Seadream Education
Seadream Education is a scientist-led, not-for-profit Community Interest Company working to improve wellbeing, environmental understanding, and access to natural environments through innovative, community-based engagement.
Any surplus is reinvested to expand our impact and reach underserved communities.
Our mission
Our mission is to connect people with the natural world through science, technology, and shared experience—supporting improved mental wellbeing, environmental awareness, and equitable access to blue and green spaces.
What we do
We design and deliver inclusive, evidence-informed programmes that combine:
- Guided environmental experiences (rivers, estuaries, coastal settings)
- Immersive digital content, including bespoke virtual reality (VR)
- Community-based outreach and engagement across schools, community groups, and public settings
Our work focuses particularly on individuals and communities who face barriers to accessing natural environments, including those experiencing social isolation, low confidence, or limited mobility.
Our approach
Seadream integrates research, education, and community engagement to develop and test practical approaches that improve access to nature and support mental wellbeing.
We work in partnership with public sector organisations, community groups, and academic collaborators to deliver programmes that are:
- Inclusive and accessible
- Grounded in real-world settings
- Designed for scalability and wider public benefit
Our work
Since 2017, we have developed and delivered projects across the UK, including:
- Community-based environmental engagement programmes
- Development of immersive VR resources using bespoke filmed content
- Project management of environmental and water-focused initiatives
- Delivery of educational workshops, talks, and public engagement events
Our work increasingly focuses on the role of blue spaces in supporting mental wellbeing and reducing inequalities in access to nature.
Looking ahead
Seadream is developing a programme of research and evaluation to better understand how supported access to natural environments can improve health outcomes and inform public health practice.
